Have you ever been told to limit your caffeine? Or, maybe you just got tired of feeling like you were bouncing off the walls trying to focus at work. Ever noticed you clench your jaw during the day, or at night? When we do something every, single, day, we stop noticing how it affects us until we stop doing it. And that goes for drinking caffeine.
The most common form of caffeine in our lives is...you guessed it, coffee! Now, don't get me wrong, I love my coffee, (you can read my previous post about organic coffee). When I say I love my coffee, I mean, I seriously enjoy the actual taste of freshly ground beans, and a strong black coffee. I used to think it was the moment of sitting and sipping on a warm beverage every morning that I liked, but I will have days where I just want to drink the flavor, and it has nothing to do with waking up or needing energy. It can be the hottest day ever, and I still want warm coffee, because I think it tastes better than cold brew. This is why I totally understand when people are apprehensive on giving it up. I want to share with you something I found that has made my morning routine, and even my afternoon, a bit more exciting, without the jitters and anxiety. Enter, Teeccino.

Teeccino came into my life about a year ago when I decided to try their Dandelion blends, having just learned all about the detoxifying effects of dandelion on your liver. I started to love the roasted flavor and realized it really did taste similar to coffee, but I was drinking it before bed. Whaaaat?!
I later decided my body’s ability to handle daily life stressors was at an all time low. I was sweating in stressful situations; I felt jittery and nervous over the tiniest things; I sometimes felt nauseous; my heart would race; and I felt an overall anxiety to get things done super quickly as if I was in a race against time. And looking back it was just my own anxiety working me up, and I never thought that my caffeine intake could be contributing to the problem.
Caffeine is a stimulant, and it puts our bodies in a stressful state, so if you’re already dealing with outside stressors, adding caffeine is fuel to the fire. Learning more about what it can do to our bodies is really important so we can make informed decisions for our health. (Check out this article: Health Conditions Aggravated by Caffeine!)
Starting to slowly eliminate, or lower your intake of caffeine can produce profound changes in your body. It can help regulate hormones like cortisol and DHEA, weight-loss, better sleep, better digestion and reflux improvements, slower aging process, along with many other benefits.
Here’s how I started lowering my caffeine intake:
- Every other day start swapping your morning coffee with Teeccino (they have SO many flavors and varieties to try!) My favorite: Dandelion Coconut & Carmel Nut
- Mix half your regular coffee with half Teeccino All-Purpose Grinds, this helps cut your regular caffeine intake in half, but still allows you to slowly wean off the coffee beans.
- Have one cup of regular coffee, and instead of going for your second or third cup swap that out with some Teeccino tea, they have so many flavors to choose from!
Personal Benefits:
Limiting my caffeine and using Teeccino to satisfy that craving for coffee has benefited me in a variety of ways.
I don’t have the afternoon crash
Consistent energy throughout the day
No jittery affects
Skin is less dry
More rational decision making, less brain fog
No withdrawal headaches
This is something I recommend everyone try at some point, especially if you want to lose weight, suffer from hormonal issues, stress and mental health issues, lack of energy, or just want to feel better!
